Compensation

Our full-time hourly rates are consistently above local market averages, with pay ranging from $16 to $19 per hour for candidates with extensive recent experience.

Position Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Preschool Teacher to create and maintain a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment where children can explore, create, and grow. The ideal candidate enjoys working directly with young children and is committed to supporting their social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development through meaningful play, hands‑on experiences, and responsive interactions while upholding the values and practices of our program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe, organized, clean, and engaging classroom environment.
  • Implement established curriculum and learning experiences that encourage creativity, exploration, and independent decision‑making.
  • Support children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development through positive interactions, guidance, and age‑appropriate learning experiences.
  • Observe, document, and communicate children's development and progress as required.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with children, families, and fellow educators.
  • Participate actively in indoor and outdoor learning experiences, including messy play and nature‑based activities.
  • Prepare, organize, and maintain classroom materials, learning centers, and activity spaces.
  • Ensure classroom routines and transitions are implemented effectively and consistently.
  • Uphold all health, safety, sanitation, and licensing requirements.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Genuine passion for working with young children.
  • Strong commitment to Early Childhood Education.
  • Strong commitment to encouraging creativity, exploration, and independent decision‑making in children.
  • Experience working in a licensed childcare, preschool, or early childhood setting.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a well‑organized, clean, engaging, and interactive learning environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to keep classroom spaces organized, clean, and orderly before, during, and after activities.
  • Willingness to actively engage in and support all classroom activities.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship‑building skills.
  • Energetic, positive, responsible, flexible, punctual, respectful, and professional demeanor.
  • A natural affinity for outdoor activities and a readiness to embrace the messy, joyful aspects of working with children.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Clean Criminal Background Check.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to commute to Dripping Springs or Southwest Austin.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
  • Associate degree, CDA, or coursework in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
  • Experience with STEAM, Reggio Emilia, Montessori, Waldorf, or nature‑based educational approaches.
  • Experience documenting child development and supporting curriculum implementation.
  • CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Interest in gardening, nature, dance, yoga, or outdoor education.
  • Motivation to contribute positively to a collaborative teaching team with compassion and enthusiasm.
