Furqaan Academy is seeking a caring, energetic, and enthusiastic Preschool Teacher who is passionate about working with young children and creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging early-learning environment. The ideal candidate will support the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of preschool-aged children through age-appropriate instruction, activities, and positive classroom interactions.
Responsibilities
The Preschool Teacher will be responsible for creating a safe, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment where young children can learn and grow.
Key responsibilities include:
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons, activities, and learning experiences that support early childhood development.
- Develop students’ foundational skills in language, early literacy, mathematics, social-emotional development, and motor skills.
- Create engaging classroom activities using play-based, hands-on, and experiential learning approaches.
- Establish and maintain a structured, positive, and nurturing classroom environment.
- Supervise students at all times and ensure their safety and well-being.
- Maintain appropriate classroom routines, schedules, and expectations.
- Support children’s social and emotional development by teaching cooperation, communication, sharing, and problem-solving skills.
- Observe and document student development, progress, behavior, and areas requiring additional support.
- Communicate regularly and professionally with parents and guardians regarding student progress, classroom activities, and concerns.
- Collaborate with other teachers, administrators, and support staff to promote student success.
- Maintain accurate attendance and student records.
- Prepare classroom materials, learning centers, displays, and instructional resources.
- Address behavioral concerns using positive, age-appropriate classroom management strategies.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, school events, and other school-related activities.
- Follow all school policies, procedures, health and safety requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and child-friendly classroom environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by school administration.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Education, or a related field is preferred.
- Coursework or credits equivalent to an Early Childhood Education degree may be considered.
- Illinois teaching certification or early childhood credential (Type 4, Type 3, Type 9, or applicable early childhood certification) is a plus.
- Previous experience working with preschool or early childhood students is preferred.
- Strong communication, classroom management, and organizational skills.
- Must be able to legally work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
- Must be able to pass a local criminal history check and fingerprint-based background check.
- Must be able to work effectively in a team-oriented school environment.
- Must demonstrate patience, enthusiasm, professionalism, and a genuine interest in working with young children.

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field (Preferred)
Experience
- Preschool/Early Childhood Teaching: 1–3 years (Preferred)
License/Certification
- Illinois Teaching Certification or applicable Early Childhood credential (Preferred)
