Job summary

Five Star Kids Pre-K Program is seeking a CYP Sub for the 2026/2027 school year at the Armed Services YMCA Hampton Roads location in Virginia Beach, VA. Pay ranges from $16.00 to $18.50 per hour with varying hours, Monday through Friday, with holidays, nights and weekends off.

The CYP Sub assists the CYP Director and manager by providing learning experiences for students in place of the regular teacher. Responsibilities include supervising students, monitoring outcomes, and maintaining records

Qualifications

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma.
Six credits in early childhood education (ECE) or early childhood development (ECD) and six months of teaching experience.
Three credits in ECE or ECD and one year of teaching experience.
Hold a national credential such as CCP or CDA (or state equivalent) and one year of teaching experience.

Responsibilities

Provide learning experiences for students in place of the regular teacher.
Create a learning environment conducive to intellectual, physical, social and emotional development.
Supervise students in school-related settings and monitor outcomes.
Communicate with students, parents, staff and community and maintain required records.
Follow Virginia licensing requirements and school policies.
