Description

The Preschool Substitute Teacher is responsible for assisting the lead teacher in planning and implementing learning experiences for children (normally up to 5 years of age). The role involves activities designed to promote social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth in a safe and healthy learning environment.

About RCS

Resurrection Christian School is a private, non-denominational Christian college-preparatory school located in Loveland, Colorado. Founded in 1998 by Rez.Church, RCS serves students from Pre-K through 12th grade. It is the largest Christian school in Northern Colorado, serving nearly 900 families from 19 communities within a 25-mile radius. The school is fully accredited by ACSI and AdvancED.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Assist the lead teacher in teaching basic facts such as colors, letters, numbers, and shapes.
  • Help arrange centers and groups for children to rotate through during the day.
  • Enforce classroom management to keep students on-task and focused.
  • Conduct story time and circle time activities.
  • Support children needing extra assistance and promote inclusion.
  • Enforce rules and procedures for maintaining order.
  • Supervise students’ behavior and well-being.
  • Observe and evaluate children’s performance, social, emotional, and physical development.
  • Conduct activities like games, arts and crafts, music, storytelling, and assist with field trips.
  • Maintain knowledge of RCS policies, procedures, and handbooks.
  • Build professional relationships with staff, board members, and families.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.

Requirements

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Experience in early childhood education is preferred. Knowledge of classroom management, diverse learning styles, and best practices is necessary. First Aid and CPR certifications are a plus. Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suite is desired. Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects. Strong interpersonal and management skills required.

Physical Requirements

Includes standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, lifting up to 40 lbs, and extended periods of talking, hearing, sitting, or walking. Manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination are necessary.
