Job summary

Kamehameha Schools in Kaumakani, Hawaii seeks a Preschool Substitute Aide (Temporary, On-Call) to support the Kaua’i Preschool Region, including Kaumakani. The role is entry-level with Monday–Friday day shifts and flexible hours up to 40 hours per week based on needs.

Responsibilities include assisting in developmentally appropriate activities, supervising children, managing attendance and materials, and supporting teachers with curriculum and classroom routines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Able to organize a high volume of varied work activities.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• CDA or AA in Early Childhood Education.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily classroom lessons with appropriate interactions with students, small group instruction, observations and assessment.
• Supervise student behavior independently and under Teacher direction using appropriate early childhood health and safety guidelines.
• Provide program and clerical support through snack menu pick-up; maintaining attendance and other records; ordering and maintaining materials and supplies.
• Prepares materials needed for a safe and healthy classroom indoor/outdoor environment including daily snack preparation and sanitizing; maintaining classroom centers, materials and equipment.
• Participates in workshops and In-services.
