Job summary

Linn-Mar Community School District is seeking a dedicated Student Support Associate (preschool) to assist with instructional activities and help create an inclusive classroom environment in Marion, Iowa. The role supports teachers by providing targeted student assistance, supervising activities, and reinforcing goals within the IEP.

The position emphasizes safety, patience, and strong communication with students, families and staff, including following CPI/CPR guidelines where required.

Qualifications

• Willingly accepts, understands and follows directions.
• Ability to learn, understand and implement appropriate student behavior techniques.
• Experience working with students preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of and willingness to use CPI/CPR training as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students with personal hygiene programming under guidance.
• Protect health and safety through CPR/first aid as needed.
• Assist with environmental mobility and adaptive PE events.
• Support student needs during the day across classes and activities.
• Assist in preparing teaching aids and materials as planned by the teacher.
• Support implementation of IEP goals and student-specific objectives.
• Maintain a respectful, inclusive learning environment for all students.
