Job summary

Westfield Public Schools is seeking a Preschool Classroom Paraprofessional at Munger Hill Elementary School in Westfield, MA. The role is full-time, starting immediately, with a pay range of $18 to $28 per hour.

Qualifications

• Possession of Associate degree or higher; or 48 credit hours from higher education institution; or passage of the ParaPro or Work Keys assessment must be completed within three years of hire.
• Demonstrated interest in children and education.
• Evidence of the emotional maturity and stability necessary for the specialized work involved.
• Ability to communicate and work successfully with staff and students.

Responsibilities

• Assist student(s) with tasks such as dressing, mobility, restroom, and feeding as needed.
• Work with individuals or small groups to reinforce learning and skills introduced by the teacher.
• Help devise strategies to reinforce material based on student needs and abilities.
• Supervise students during drills, assemblies, play, and field trips; assist with lunch, playground, and bus duties.
