Job summary

Oxford Public Schools in Connecticut seeks a full-time Preschool Special Education Teacher to deliver specialized instruction for preschool and elementary students on the autism spectrum. The candidate must hold CT certification in Special Education (065, 112, 113) and collaborate with teams to set measurable goals.

Knowledge of IDEA and PPT processes, plus experience supervising instructional assistants and communicating with parents, are essential.

Qualifications

• CT certification in Special Education (065, 112, 113).
• Experience with students on the autism spectrum at elementary and pre-K levels.
• Knowledge of IDEA and PPT process.
• Develop and evaluate measurable goals and objectives.
• Evaluate students using standards-based and curriculum-based measures; experience with DTI practices.
• Supervise instructional assistants relative to students on caseload.
• Collaborate with regular and Special Services staff and administrators.
• Establish and maintain frequent communication with parents of students on caseload.

Candidates must possess the following qualifications:

• Qualified candidates will hold CT certification in Special Education (065, 112, 113) and will have excellent teaming, collaboration, and communications skills.
• Experience and knowledge working with students on the autism spectrum at the elementary and Pre-K level.
• Knowledge of IDEA and the PPT process.
• Develop and evaluate measurable goals and objectives.
• Evaluate students as needed using standards based and curriculum based measures Experience with DTI instructional practices and program development.
• Supervise instructional assistants relative to students on caseload.
• Collaborate with regular and Special Services staff and administrators.
• Establish and maintain frequent communication with parents of students on caseload.
