PENDERGAST SCHOOL DISTRICT in Glendale, AZ is seeking an Instructional Assistant Preschool ESS to support students and teachers in the classroom, assist with supervision, and help develop adaptive and behavioral skills under supervision.

The role is 9-Month, non-exempt, reports to the Principal and starts immediately; requires a high school diploma or GED, 60 college credits or AA, First Aid/CPR, immunizations, fingerprint clearance, and ability to obtain a Food Handler Card.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• 60 College Credit Hours or AA Degree or proof of passing a state para-professional assessment.
• First Aid/ CPR Training.
• Proof of immunity to Measles, German Measles, Mumps and TB.
• Fingerprint Clearance Card IVP.
• Ability to obtain a Food Handler Card.

Responsibilities

• Adapts classroom work under the direction of the teacher to support classroom objectives.
• Administers evaluations to assist the teacher in assessing student progress.
• Administers first-aid and assists medically fragile students under supervision.
• Assists teachers and parents in implementing lesson plans and developing skills.
• Participates in meetings to share information and improve skills.
• Performs record keeping and clerical tasks to support classroom materials.
