Job summary

AHRC New York City in Bronx, NY is seeking a Special Education Preschool Teacher Assistant for the Howard Haber ELC. The role supports daily activities in a special education classroom and helps implement schedules and lessons aligned to NYS standards.

Hours are 8:30 A.M to 3:00 P.M., Full-time, with salaries listed between $31,064 and $33,207 per year. Includes PTO, health/dental/vision, retirement, tuition assistance and more benefits.

Qualifications

• Certification Levels I-III, AA or 60 credits; BA or MA. Salaries commensurate upon education attainments.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in daily activities in a preschool Special Education classroom.
• Participate in the implementation of daily schedule/lesson plans aligned to NYS Prekindergarten Foundation standards or NYS Common Core Standards, informed by assessment data.
• Demonstrate appropriate teaching techniques including prompting, pacing and reinforcement strategies; monitor for potential behavioral challenges.
