Job summary

Uintah School District in Vernal, UT is seeking a PT Special Education Preschool Teacher Aide at Central Cove Preschool to support classroom activities and supervise children during play and routines. This position is up to 19.5 hours per week, voucher position with no benefits.

The role requires assisting the lead teacher, facilitating inclusive activities, and helping with toileting, snacks, and behavior support, focusing on early learning and social interaction.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate Degree or 48 semester hours or Para-Pro Test required or willingness to take immediately upon hire.
• Ability to lift at least 45 pounds.
• CPR certification preferred; experience with at-risk children is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and supportive environment for young children.
• Assist with bathroom needs and diapering when necessary.
• Support basic needs: handwashing, mobility, communication.
• Prepare and supervise children during gym, outdoor play, and other activities.
• Assist with student behavior and positive discipline strategies.
• Prepare and serve healthy snacks.
• Collaborate with lead teachers and other staff.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the classroom.
