Job summary

The Allegheny Intermediate Unit is seeking a Paraprofessional to support students with disabilities in classrooms and transportation, assist with daily living activities, and reinforce instructional goals under the direction of a PA Certified Professional.

Responsibilities include assisting with classroom routines, using assistive technologies, following IEPs, maintaining records, and ensuring safety during activities.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 60 college credits required.
• 1–2 years of experience working with children with special needs preferred.
• Crisis intervention, CPR and First Aid training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist students to and from the bus at arrival and departure times.
• Assist students with bathroom needs and toileting routines as required.
• Prepare and operate instructional equipment and materials under guidance of teachers/therapists.
• Maintain classroom health guidelines and confidentiality of student information.
• Update attendance records and data collection as directed.
