Job summary

Davison Community Schools' Cardinal’s Nest Preschool is seeking a Preschool Aide to support PreK students at Central or Cardinal’s Nest locations. The role runs Monday through Friday, 8:45 AM to 3:45 PM, with an immediate start and adherence to district and licensing rules.

You will assist with self-care needs, provide learning support, and help implement behavior plans while maintaining a safe, structured environment and strong collaboration with teachers and parents.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; related training or experience preferred but not required.
• Emotional stability and physical stamina for managing students with special needs.
• Ability to work positively with adults and children.
• Initiative to understand and adapt to varied abilities and ages.
• Flexibility and willingness to learn new skills.
• Maintain regular, reliable, punctual attendance.
• All required forms must be filed before starting (TB test, background check, licensing).

Responsibilities

• Provide small group or individual student assistance as directed by the teacher.
• Assist students with dressing, toileting/diapering, eating, and self-care.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and assist with wheelchair transfers.
• Support students with learning and behavior plans with positive supervision.
• Adapt to diverse teaching styles and follow licensing rules.
• Take children outside daily and maintain a structured routine.
• Follow staff handbook guidelines and stay updated on communications.
• Attend all staff meetings and required training; perform duties as asked.
