Qualifications

• Possess or qualify for immediate issuance of a valid Washington State teaching certificate with a special education endorsement.
• Experience teaching preschool through grade 5 with disabilities ranging from mild to severe/profound preferred.
• Ability to work in multiple languages and multicultural environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive and compliant IEPs.
• Plan and provide specially designed instruction aligned with IEP goals and monitor progress.
• Develop and implement behavior plans informed by data.
• Collaborate with regular education teachers, paraeducators and staff including co-teaching.
• Maintain safe, positive learning environments and use data to modify instruction.
• Communicate and collaborate with parents and the school community.
• Attend required staff meetings and participate in site-based decision-making.
• Direct activities of assigned non-certificated personnel.
