Job summary

Dedicated School Staffing is seeking a Substitute Special Education Preschool Aide to support students with disabilities in Graytown, OH. The role is part-time / on-call with flexible scheduling, assisting with IEP goals and daily activities.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and an educational aide permit or higher license, plus strong communication and teamwork. Responsibilities include one-on-one support, behavior strategies, and collaboration with staff.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid educational aide permit or higher teaching license (as required by state regulations).
• Clean criminal background checks.
• Ability to work with students with diverse needs in a patient, respectful, and professional manner.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to follow directions, routines, and individualized plans.
• Physical ability to assist with lifting, positioning, or mobility support when required.
• Adherence to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one or small-group support to students with disabilities (academic, behavioral, physical, developmental).
• Assist in implementing IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications as directed by certified staff.
• Support students with communication, social skills, and engagement in classroom activities.
• Help with personal care tasks as needed (e.g., mobility assistance, toileting, feeding), following training and safety guidelines.
• Use behavior-support strategies and follow behavior intervention plans consistently.
• Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, playgrounds, and during arrival/dismissal.
• Assist with adaptive equipment, assistive technology, or sensory tools as directed.
• Maintain a calm, supportive presence during challenging behaviors or transitions.
• Document observations or incidents according to school procedures.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to maintain a positive, structured learning environment.
