Position: Preschool Relief Teacher - Baldwin
Pennsauken Public Schools is an urban/suburban Pre-K to 12th grade school district of approximately 5,000 students located in Camden County, New Jersey
Responsibilities
- Works cooperatively and collaboratively with staff.
- Creates and environment of respect and rapport.
- Guides children in working and playing with other children.
- Provides coverage to preschool teachers daily.
- Assists with supervision of students during regular play periods.
- Works with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning materials or skills initially introduced by the teacher.
- Assists with creating an atmosphere that is conducive to learning and appropriate maturity and interests of the students.
- Assists teacher in guiding the learning process (consistent with the course of study) toward the achievement of curriculum goals and objectives and communicating these goals and objectives to the students.
- Guides independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work as assigned by the classroom teacher.
- Reads to students, listens to students and participates in other forms of communication with students.
- Ensures confidentiality of student information.
- Reflects on own professional development needs, attends workshops, reads research articles, consults with others, etc.
- Performs other related professional duties as assigned by administration.
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree, Endorsement #1013 Elementary P-3 and/or Endorsement #1000 New Jersey State Certification REQUIRED
- Desired Experience: 1 year teaching in a Preschool program
- MUST pass NJ Criminal History Review Unit fingerprinting requirement
- New Jersey State residency requirements for public employees in effect
