Job summary

Saginaw ISD is seeking a Program Support Aide (PSA) to join a team that assists in classroom, kitchen, bus and related program activities. The PSA will support staff in implementing lesson plans, supervising children, and ensuring a clean, safe learning environment in a Head Start/early childhood setting.

The role requires strong patience, reliability, and ability to work with children from birth to five, with training provided in First Aid/CPR and licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 18 with high school diploma or GED.
• Preferred CDA credential within 2 years of hire.
• Experience with preschool children is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Attends required training and workshops for Head Start and licensing.
• Keeps informed on Head Start standards and regulations.
• Supports classroom staff in lesson implementation and activities.
• Assists with mealtime supervision and safe classroom practices.
• Acts as substitute when needed and participates in screenings/observations.
• Maintains a clean, safe and healthy learning environment.
