Job summary

The role focuses on mobility, posture, balance, coordination, strength, and safe participation, aligning with IEP goals and school-based services within a 12‑month framework.

Qualifications

• Licensed occupational therapist.
• Experience with pediatric IEP teams.
• Strong ability to develop individualized goals with families and school staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct occupational therapy services to preschool‑aged students as per IEPs.
• Assess motor skills and functional abilities using formal and informal tools.
• Develop individualized treatment plans focused on mobility, posture, balance, and independence.
• Address barriers to participation in classroom activities and access to the educational environment.
• Adapt equipment and recommend assistive devices to improve safety and independence.
• Collaborate with teachers and related service providers to integrate therapy into daily routines.
• Train staff and families on safe handling, positioning, and strategies for student needs.
• Document therapy sessions and progress to meet IEP goals and compliance.
• Attend IEP meetings and interdisciplinary discussions, contributing progress and recommendations.
