Job summary

Canarsie Childhood Center is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to guide our children toward achieving their goals. You will assess, design and implement interventions to improve motor and sensory skills, collaborating with teachers, parents, and healthcare professionals.

A Master's in OT and NYSOTA registration are required; experience with children with special needs is a plus. We offer a supportive environment, professional growth, and flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Current registration with the NYSOTA.
• Experience working with children with special needs is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate students' physical, cognitive, and sensory abilities to develop personalized treatment plans
• Design and implement occupational therapy interventions to improve fine motor, gross motor, and sensory integration skills
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans
• Conduct group and individual therapy sessions to promote functional skills and independence
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of student progress and treatment plans
• Participate in IEP meetings and staff development workshops to stay up-to-date on best practices
