Job summary

Montgomery County Public Schools seeks a Parent Educator for the Preschool Education Program (PEP) at Waters Landing ES, 0.1 FTE. The role supports IEP implementation for preschool students and families, in classroom settings or via group/individual meetings with parents.

The candidate will plan and conduct parent seminars, assist families through intake and exit processes, and participate in required meetings outside instructional hours as per MCEA agreement.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, counseling, social work, education, or related field.
• Training and experience with pre-kindergarten students with developmental delays and their families.
• MSDE requirements for special education teacher preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support IEP implementation for preschool students and families.
• Assist families through intake and exiting processes.
• Plan and conduct parent group seminars.
• Work with staff and families in classroom or meeting settings.
• Attend meetings outside instructional day as mandated by the MCEA agreement.
