Job summary

Canarsie Childhood Center is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to support our students two to three days per week. You will guide children toward reaching their full potential within a collaborative, supportive environment.

You will assess, plan, and implement OT interventions, collaborate with teachers and families, and participate in IEP meetings while maintaining detailed progress notes. Flexible scheduling and a team-focused culture are offered.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Current NYSOTA registration or eligibility is required.
• Experience with children with special needs is a plus.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate students to develop personalized treatment plans (physical, cognitive, and sensory).
• Design and implement interventions to improve fine motor, gross motor, and sensory integration skills.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals on treatment plans.
• Conduct group and individual therapy sessions to promote functional skills and independence.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and treatment plans.
• Participate in IEP meetings and staff development to stay current with best practices.
