Job description

In Search of:

Full-Time Preschool Lead Teacher who has a passion for serving children 3-4 years, and their families, in a caring educational setting that is rooted in the mission of the YMCA, a non-profit, charity organization.

Benefits:

Starting Pay:

$14.00 - $16.00/hr

Position Description:

  • Designs and implements daily lesson/activity plans
  • Responsible for well-being and personal growth of the children
  • Leads the classroom team that includes supervision of Assistant Teachers
  • Makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child
  • Conducts parent conferences, and maintains positive relationships and effective communication with parents
  • Maintains classroom and program equipment
  • Maintains required program records
  • Attends and participates in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training
  • Maintains training in First aid, CPR, Communicable Diseases and Child Abuse Awareness as well as 10 hours of Ohio Approved training per year. (trainings provided by YMCA and affiliates)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 18 years old
  • High school graduate
  • Associates degree or higher in education or related field or CPL level 3 or above

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Early childhood classroom experience, including lesson planning and conducting assessments
  • Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice
