Job description

Join to apply for the Preschool Lead Teacher role at YMCA of Central Stark County (Ohio).

Position: Full-Time Preschool Lead Teacher

Starting Pay: $14.00 - $16.00/hr

Responsibilities:

  • Designs and implements daily lesson/activity plans
  • Responsible for the well-being and personal growth of the children
  • Leads the classroom team, including supervision of Assistant Teachers
  • Makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child
  • Conducts parent conferences and maintains positive relationships and effective communication with parents
  • Maintains classroom and program equipment
  • Maintains required program records
  • Attends and participates in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training
  • Maintains training in First aid, CPR, Communicable Diseases, and Child Abuse Awareness, as well as 10 hours of Ohio-Approved training per year

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 18 years old
  • High school graduate
  • Associates degree or higher in education or related field or CPL level 3 or above

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Early childhood classroom experience, including lesson planning and conducting assessments
  • Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice
