Description

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Grace Beginnings Preschool Lead Teacher will assist the Director in fostering the faith development of the children attending Grace Beginnings child care. The role involves helping children achieve curriculum goals through appropriate early childhood experiences and promoting their emotional, social, cognitive, physical, and spiritual growth.

  • Provide educational experiences that demonstrate understanding of curriculum and faith development goals
  • Incorporate Spanish and Sports enrichment classes into classroom experiences
  • Differentiate instruction for a mixed-age group, especially during mid-year transitions
  • Establish effective communication with teachers, parents, and families through daily sharing and collaboration
  • Follow directives from the Director and Assistant Director to uphold high standards and quality learning experiences
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment, fulfilling duties to ensure an orderly facility
  • Respect individual needs of children, considering their faith, culture, interests, and talents
  • Develop positive relationships with parents and coworkers
  • Treat children and families with dignity and respect
  • Address behavioral issues with Christian love, respect, and patience
  • Exhibit Christian values to foster goodwill within the community and among staff and management
  • Maintain regular, punctual attendance
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications

PROFESSIONAL AND SPIRITUAL EXPECTATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED required; CDA or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education preferred
  • At least 24 post-secondary quarter credits in education or a related field, plus 4,160 hours as an assistant teacher in a child care setting
  • Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for children aged 33 months to 5 years
  • Knowledge of the Bible and faith development for infants and toddlers
  • A commitment to prayer, both corporate and personal
  • A meaningful and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ, evidenced by the fruit of the Holy Spirit
  • Living a lifestyle that reflects integrity and professionalism suitable for Christian ministry
