Job summary

The Learning Experience - Oak Creek is seeking a dependable Childcare Center Cook to prepare and serve nutritious meals for our preschool children in a clean, safe kitchen.

This full-time, Monday–Friday role offers a consistent weekday schedule with no evenings or weekends, plus health, dental, vision, and 401(k) benefits.

Pay ranges from $17 to $20 per hour, based on experience, with employee discounts on childcare and a supportive, family‑focused work environment.

Qualifications

• Previous professional cooking or food preparation experience.
• Experience preparing food for children, schools, childcare programs, or group settings is a plus.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food storage practices.
• Food Handler or ServSafe certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks per established menus.
• Follow appropriate portion sizes and meal schedules.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen.
• Properly store, label, rotate, and monitor food and supplies.
• Follow food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Maintain awareness of children's allergies and dietary restrictions.
• Distribute meals and snacks to classrooms.
• Wash dishes and maintain kitchen equipment and food preparation areas.
• Monitor inventory and communicate supply needs to center leadership.
• Maintain required food service documentation.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and center leadership.
• Follow Wisconsin childcare, health, sanitation, and food safety requirements.
