Job summary

A Bright Beginnings is seeking a dependable Preschool Cook to support our Orange Park classroom and school team in Florida. The role focuses on preparing nutritious meals and snacks and keeping a clean, safe kitchen that aligns with health and licensing requirements.

You will follow menus and portion guidance for groups of children, manage food storage, and coordinate with school leadership to ensure meals are served on schedule and documentation is kept up to date.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous cooking, food preparation, or school nutrition experience preferred.
• Experience preparing meals for groups preferred.
• Experience in childcare or preschool nutrition environment preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, storage, and temperature control.
• Ability to follow written menus, recipes, and dietary instructions.
• Ability to meet Florida childcare, background screening, health, food-service and employment requirements.
• Ability to complete required training and certifications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals and snacks according to established menus and schedules.
• Follow portion guidelines based on age and program requirements.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen and food-prep area.
• Comply with food safety, sanitation, health, licensing, and company requirements.
• Maintain proper food temperatures and safe food storage.
