Job summary

La Scuola International School is seeking a Preschool/Early Education Assistant Teacher in San Francisco or Silicon Valley. You will support the daily program under supervision, collaborating with teachers to implement lessons in an Italian immersion setting.

Candidates should be proactive, flexible, and capable of working in a diverse, collaborative team, with a passion for the school’s Reggio Emilia and IB-aligned approach.

Qualifications

• Experience with Reggio Emilia approach or IB Early Years framework is required.
• Italian language immersion experience is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Education is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure students are joyfully and safely engaged in classroom activities and outdoor play.
• Support head teacher(s) and specialists with classroom management and supervision.
• Collaborate with the teaching team to plan and implement lessons in small groups or individually.
• Guide student behavior and provide social-emotional support.
• Organize classroom environment and materials for nap, play, art, crafts and science.
• Communicate observations to Head Teacher(s) and participate in documentation.
• Maintain a positive attitude with students and colleagues.
