The Jewish Community Center of Greater KC in Overland Park offers part-time swim instruction for children ages 6 months and up. Instructors lead group and private lessons and enjoy flexible weekday, weekend, and evening opportunities.
Schedule includes Tuesdays and Thursdays 10am-12pm with no weekends; pay starts at $11-13 per 30-minute lesson, based on experience. The J provides training, membership benefits, and growth opportunities.
Part-time
The J offers American Red Cross group swim lessons for children age 6 months and up. We offer classes for the beginner to the experienced swimmer who may be working on stroke proficiency and endurance. We also offer private swim lessons for all ages and abilities. Swim Instructors have flexible schedules and have teaching opportunities weekdays, weekends and evenings.
Requires constant talking and hearing to communicate instructions with students, constant repetitive motions and eye/hand/foot coordination to demonstrate strokes as well as frequent standing. Will occasionally walk, lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs., climb ladders in and out of pool, and stoop/crouch. This position also involves exposure to outdoor weather conditions depending on the season, and varying pool temperatures. Good vision to surveil assigned zones and identify patrons in need of assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
