Job summary

Brooklyn Community Services is hiring a Floater Assistant Teacher for Cumbo Preschool. The role is full-time, in-person at 180 Myrtle Avenue, Brooklyn. You will assist with lesson plans, supervise children, manage classrooms, and support family engagement under the Center Director.

The position requires a High School Diploma and at least 1 year of teaching experience with young children; associate degree or Food Handlers Certification are preferred. Salary range is $31,601–$34,494 annually.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• One year of teaching experience with toddlers and preschoolers.
• Ability to lift 30-50 pounds and perform related physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide substitute and other classroom coverage as needed.
• Assist Lead Teacher with planning age-appropriate activities.
• Supervise children and maintain proper classroom management.
• Support attendance, meal counts, health checks and records.
• Engage with children through play to meet developmental goals.
• Assist during parent-teacher conferences and field trips.
• Maintain a safe, neat, and organized classroom environment.
