Job summary

The Kirk Preschool seeks aFloater to support teaching staff and help meet the needs of young children in a classroom setting. The Floater assists during breaks or when a teacher is out, ensuring a safe and healthy learning environment.

Under the Preschool Director, the Floater participates in daily routines, devotions, and staff meetings while interacting with children on the floor and assisting with transitions and care activities.

Qualifications

• Active member of a local Christian church
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience working with young children
• Able to lift 45 pounds
• Able to sit on the floor for short periods of time to interact with children
• CPR and First Aid certification

Responsibilities

• Assists in creating a safe and healthy learning environment for young children
• Assists teachers during bathroom breaks and/or diaper changing and whole class transitions
• Maintains inventory and supplies
• Cleans and organizes resource closets and storage for play equipment
• Performs daily opening and closing duties according to the schedule
• Attends devotions, required activities, workshops and meetings
• Displays professional conduct in all matters of the preschool

The Floater works closely with teaching staff to help meet the needs of the children. The Floater is support for the teacher during breaks or anytime the teacher is out of the classroom.

Supervision

The Floater is under the supervision of the Preschool Director.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assists in creating a safe and healthy learning environment for young children
