A classroom floater position involves providing support in various classrooms within a school or childcare center, typically filling in for absent teachers, assisting with daily routines, and ensuring children's safe and engaging environment. This role requires flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to work with different age groups and in diverse learning environments.
Duties
In this role, you will provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years old. You will be responsible for their care, development, and well-being while fostering a positive and engaging learning experience.
Duties may include but are not limited to:
- Covering Staff Absences
- Assisting with Daily Activities
- Supporting Child Development
- Maintaining a Safe Environment
- Communicating with Staff and Families
- Adapting to Different Classrooms
Requirements
- Experience or willingness to learn how to work with children ages 6 weeks through 5 years.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills.
- Patience, nurturing personality, and ability to create a positive environment.
- CPR and first aid certification within the first 30 days of employment.
- Ability to work well with a team.
- Experience working with children in a childcare setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; CDA or related degree preferred.
