Job summary

Acquire4Hire in Nashville is opening a new center in November 2026 and seeks a preschool teacher to guide social, physical and intellectual growth. You will prepare activities, read to children, and supervise classroom routines to create a safe, engaging learning environment.

The role includes collaborating with staff, adapting lessons to student needs, and meeting with guardians to discuss progress and goals for each child.

Qualifications

• Set up classroom materials or equipment.
• Provide for basic needs of children.
• Teach life skills.
• Establish rules or policies governing student behavior.
• Read to students.
• Plan educational activities.
• Monitor student performance.
• Monitor student behavior, social development, or health.
• Evaluate student work.
• Discuss student progress with parents or guardians.

Responsibilities

• Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore and use.
• Attend to children's basic needs.
• Teach basic skills such as color, shape, number and letter recognition.
• Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order.
• Read books to classes or groups.
• Organize activities to promote development (games, arts, crafts, music, storytelling, field trips).
• Observe and evaluate children's development and health.
• Meet with parents to discuss progress and needs.
• Prepare materials and classrooms for activities.
• Supervise and collaborate with staff and volunteers.
