Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Washington is hiring a Full-Time Early Learning Teacher to support preschoolers with engaging, developmentally appropriate activities. Under the direction of the Early Learning Director, you will implement lesson plans that nurture social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth.

Qualifications

• Requires CDA within 18 months of employment.
• Minimum one year of teaching experience in a licensed center.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead developmentally appropriate lesson plans.
• Create and maintain substitute documentation including schedules, activities, and emergency info.
• Implement daily routines enabling teacher-led and child-driven learning.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.
• Communicate clearly with families about progress and needs.
• Attend family and program-related events.
