Job summary

YMCA of Greater Boston is seeking Early Education Teachers to join our Child Development programs across the city and suburbs of Boston. We are looking for EEC-certified teachers to enrich the lives of the children we serve and uphold the YMCA’s values.

Responsibilities include safety-first supervision, age-appropriate curriculum planning, differentiated instruction, and conducting assessments with parents.

Qualifications

• You are detail oriented and follow all regulations to ensure children are happy, safe, and healthy.
• You are mission driven and committed to YMCA goals.
• You are a people person with strong relationship skills with families and community.
• You love working with kids and creating engaging educational experiences.
• You are at least 21 years old and meet the Department of Early Education and Care requirements.
• You must obtain First Aid and CPR certification within the first six months.
• You will complete required trainings (Blood Born Pathogen and Sexual Harassment) within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Keep safety of children as a first priority.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum fostering development.
• Provide differentiated instruction to meet individual needs.
• Conduct child assessments and provide feedback to parents/caregivers.
• Lead by example and model YMCA values for children, staff and families.
• Use positive behavior management and ensure staff consistency.
• Supervise children to ensure safety and guide transitions.
• Collaborate with co-teacher to design classroom space and prep materials.
