Job summary

CDS First Step Lewiston is hiring Educational Technicians to teach and support preschool children with disabilities, preparing them for Kindergarten and beyond. 30 hours/week during the academic year with possible travel; certification and background checks required.

Positions include Ed Tech I–III with salary ranges and excellent benefits such as medical, dental, life, 403(b), and professional development stipends. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Current Ed Tech certification and authorization with the Maine DOE.
• Criminal history check and background fingerprinting required.
• Experience with preschool populations and multidisciplinary teams preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise small groups of students in center-based programs.
• Conduct one-on-one or small group support with supervision.
• Introduce new learning pre-planned with the Preschool Teacher of Children with Disabilities.
• Review and reinforce learning previously introduced by teachers.
• Assist in preparing classroom materials and managing class routines.
• Exhibit positive language and behavior for children and families.
• Provide input for individual observational child assessments.
• Maintain confidentiality of student and employee information.
