Job summary

Second Presbyterian Church, Indianapolis, seeks a Director for Children’s Circle Preschool to lead design, staffing, oversight, and daily operations, reporting to the Associate Pastor of Children and Family Ministries. The role develops long-range plans and implements strategies to strengthen the program.

The preschool is a weekday, developmentally appropriate Christian program focused on the whole child in a safe, nurturing setting.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Education, Elementary or Early Childhood Development; MA/MS preferred
• Minimum three years of teaching experience at the early childhood/elementary level; prior admin/supervisory experience
• Familiarity with state standards in early childhood education
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; proficiency in necessary computer programs

Responsibilities

• Staff Leadership: build and empower a staff team to carry out CCP's mission; conduct regular staff meetings and provide training
• Performance Management: set clear expectations, observe classrooms, conduct reviews, provide feedback
• Community Building: engage with CCP families, foster church/community connections, communicate via newsletters and updates
• Safety and Security: oversee safety policies, conduct staff training, schedule drills, ensure licensing compliance
• Financial Oversight: create and maintain annual budget; manage accounts receivable/payable
• Collaboration: coordinate with church groups to share space and promote events
