Job summary

TemPositions represents a client nonprofit organization seeking an Early Childhood Director for one of their program sites. The role focuses on ensuring safe operation and educational enrichment, and serving as the point of contact for families while supporting site staff.

The position requires a Master’s in Early Childhood Education with NYS Certification, 5+ years teaching experience in ECE, and 2+ years in a supervisory role; MAT is preferred. DOE/ACS/Head Start experience is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in early childhood education required.
• Experience with ACS/DOE funded Day Care/Head Start and DOE UPK programs.
• Minimum 5 years teaching in early childhood classrooms.
• 2+ years in an ECE supervisory/management role.
• MAT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe operation and educational enrichment of the center.
• Provide a welcoming community for families and support for site staff.
• Monitor classrooms to support teaching staff in delivering age-appropriate curriculum.
• Assist educators in developing lesson plans and individualized plans.
• Maintain daily records (attendance, food service).
• Develop and follow schedules to meet daily activity requirements.
• Ensure safety protocols are observed in indoor/outdoor settings.
• Keep leadership informed of site visits from regulators; audit-ready records.
