Responsibilities:
  1. Manage the enrollment and waitlist process of new families.
  2. Ensure a safe, happy, and stimulating environment for children and staff.
  3. Ensure that the center’s facilities are safe for children and comply with laws and regulations.
  4. Evaluate and request the purchase of materials, equipment, and supplies to supervisors.
  5. Manage and support teaching staff and promote their professional development.
  6. Complete ongoing training and courses to remain up to date on daycare standards and procedures.
  7. Communicate and meet with parents regarding their children and center events.
  8. Provide supervision, leadership, and support to all center staff.
  9. Conduct ongoing informal and annual formal performance evaluations of center staff.
  10. Ensure licensing requirements are always met.
  11. Prepare for state evaluations, and regularly fulfill all state requirements/procedures.
  12. Report suspected neglect and/or child abuse by staff or parents to DCFS.
  13. Seek and interview new potential staff, when applicable.
  14. Fulfill requests pertaining to the center’s well-being by the owner.
  15. Substitute/assist for staff when needed.
  16. Create media promoting the center.
  17. Create weekly updates for parents (Newsletter).
  18. Implement and enforce center policies.
  19. Accurately file and manage student and staff information (Digitally and physically).
  20. Orient new employees on center procedures/policies.
  21. Organize monthly schedules for field trips, special events, and holidays.
  22. Ensure validity of staff and student documents (CARI, CHRI, etc.).
  23. Complete payroll on a bi-weekly basis.
  24. Manage staff payroll data ensuring its validity.
  25. Complete standard payroll duties including managing new and existing staff members, adjusting pay, and ensuring payroll information is submitted correctly.
  26. Provide a written report of all staff members after 3 months, and every 6 months thereafter.

This position can be held together with the Head Teacher position based on applicable qualification.
