Role Description

The Preschool Director is a full-time, on-site role based in Westwood, NJ, responsible for overseeing daily operations of the preschool for children ages 2–4. This role includes leading and supporting teaching staff, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment, and maintaining compliance with licensing and regulatory standards. The Preschool Director will collaborate on curriculum planning, monitor classroom activities, and foster strong communication and partnerships with families. Additional responsibilities include managing enrollment, supporting budget planning for the preschool program, coordinating schedules, and promoting the preschool within the community. The Director is expected to model positive behavior, uphold BYU’s mission and values, and create an inclusive environment where children can thrive.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Early Childhood Education and Education, with experience in preschool or kindergarten settings.
• Ability to design and implement age-appropriate Curriculum Development that supports social, emotional, and academic growth.
• Experience with Budgeting and resource management to support program operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Child Development, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, including staff supervision, coaching, and team-building in an educational setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with children, families, staff, and community partners.
• Knowledge of state licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and best practices in early childhood education.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain organized records, and use basic computer and administrative tools effectively.
