Job summary

First Baptist Atlanta is seeking a Preschool Director to provide Christ-centered leadership for its Preschool Ministry. You will create a safe, welcoming environment where preschoolers learn biblical truths and foundations for a growing relationship with Jesus.

Responsibilities

• Provide spiritual and operational leadership for Preschool Ministry aligned with FBA’s beliefs.
• Plan, oversee, and evaluate ministry programming for preschoolers’ biblical foundation.
• Partner with parents to support family discipleship at home.
• Recruit, train, schedule, and develop staff and volunteers.
• Lead and supervise Preschool Ministry staff with clear expectations and development.
• Ensure curriculum and ministry practices align with FBA’s Statement of Faith.
• Create safe, welcoming, and age-appropriate environments for preschoolers.
• Maintain safety, security, check-in, and child-protection aligned with FBA policies.
• Oversee events and programs to support spiritual growth and family engagement.
• Develop strategies to welcome and engage preschool families into FBA life.
• Manage the Preschool Ministry budget and resources responsibly.
• Set ministry goals and regularly evaluate effectiveness and opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with Children’s Ministry Director and other ministries on church-wide initiatives.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Preschool Director provides Christ-centered leadership for FBA’s Preschool Ministry, creating a safe and welcoming environment where preschoolers are introduced to biblical truth and a foundation is established for a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. This role partners with parents, equips staff and volunteers, and provides leadership for preschool ministry programs and activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have a growing and mature personal relationship with Jesus Christ
• Must align with the beliefs, values, and mission of FBA
• Must be a current member of FBA or enrolled in First Class with the intention of becoming a member within the first three months of employment
• Bachelor’s degree in Childhood Education, Christian Education, Ministry, or a related field preferred
• Previous leadership experience in Preschool Ministry, Children’s Ministry, or a related field
• Demonstrated ability to recruit, train, develop, and lead staff and volunteers
• Strong interpersonal and relational skills with the ability to effectively partner with parents, staff, and volunteers
• Strong organizational, planning, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to develop and implement ministry goals, programs, procedures, and priorities
• Must support and model FBA’s culture and service expectations, including the Red Carpet Standard (H.E.A.R.T.) and 3M Strategy

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Provide spiritual and operational leadership for Preschool Ministry in alignment with the mission, beliefs, and doctrine of FBA
• Plan, oversee, and evaluate comprehensive ministry programming that provides preschoolers with a strong biblical foundation
• Partner with parents and caregivers, providing communication, resources, and opportunities that support discipleship in the home
• Recruit, train, equip, schedule, and develop staff and volunteers for effective ministry to preschoolers and families
• Lead and supervise Preschool Ministry staff, providing clear expectations, accountability, encouragement, and ongoing development
• Ensure curriculum, teaching, and ministry practices are biblically grounded and aligned with FBA’s Statement of Faith
• Create safe, secure, sanitary, welcoming, and age-appropriate environments for preschoolers
• Ensure appropriate safety, security, check-in, and child-protection practices are followed in alignment with FBA policies
• Plan and oversee Preschool Ministry programs, activities, events, and other opportunities that support spiritual growth and family engagement
• Provide leadership and oversight for Event Care, ensuring safe, welcoming, and well-coordinated childcare for approved church-wide ministries, programs, and events
• Develop strategies to welcome, engage, and follow up with preschool families and connect them to the life of FBA
• Develop and steward the annual Preschool Ministry budget and other ministry resources responsibly
• Establish ministry goals and regularly evaluate effectiveness, engagement, volunteer development, and opportunities for improvement
• Collaborate with the Director of Children’s Ministry, Disciple Life, and other FBA ministries to support church-wide programs, events, and initiatives
