Job summary

WestCare Foundation seeks a caregiver/teacher to prepare children from infancy to 5 years for kindergarten, developing age-appropriate lessons and supervising academic and emotional growth. The role requires safety-first supervision, strong communication with parents, and adherence to Texas regulations.

Certification in Child Development and CPR/First Aid is preferred, with a driver’s license and potential vehicle insurance requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in childcare settings serving birth through 8 years is preferred.
• Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with adults and children.
• Ability to plan, manage, and evaluate curriculum.
• Knowledge of WestCare mission, goals and values.

Responsibilities

• Prepare lesson plans and classroom activities to support early childhood development.
• Supervise and ensure safety of children at all times, in accordance with regulations.
• Maintain required paperwork including attendance and incident reports.
• Communicate progress and concerns to parents and the director.
• Attend professional meetings, conferences, and training to maintain competence.
