Job summary

The Learning Experience seeks a dedicated Preschool Cook to join our team as an ambassador of happiness. You will prepare nutritious meals for preschool children, plan and batch meals, and ensure food safety and allergy tracking.

In this role you will collaborate with teachers and center leadership to source ingredients and manage inventory, while delivering friendly service to parents and children and supporting a positive center environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ year of experience in food preparation and cooking.
• Food handling certificate or ability to obtain one within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and cook healthy meals for preschool children meeting nutritional requirements.
• Maintain and track food allergies for each child and communicate allergies to teachers daily with every delivery.
• Follow food safety, handling, and sanitation procedures.
• Collaborate with Center Leadership to purchase food and supplies and keep inventory records.
• Provide excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards parents and children.
• Be flexible and adaptable to daily childcare center needs.
