Natural Choice Academy - Cadence Education

Job Description

Natural Choice Academy seeks a skilled chef/cook for our fully equipped kitchen. NCA creates healthy, nutritious food for children aged 1 to 5. As the sole kitchen staff, you will be responsible for all aspects of kitchen operations, preparing fresh, organic meals daily. A typical day includes:

  • Independence to manage your kitchen and work to your best ability
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 18 years old
  • Minimum 2 years kitchen experience, preferably in a school setting
  • Certified Food Manager per Maricopa County requirements
  • Basic computer skills
  • Passion for children's nutrition
  • Preference for experience with natural and organic ingredients
  • Ability to obtain DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Reliable transportation for shopping
  • Current Food Handler’s Card or ServSafe certification preferred
Responsibilities
  • Prepare one meal and two snacks daily for up to 150 children
  • Follow state nutrition guidelines and health codes
  • Manage inventory and purchase ingredients
  • Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment and surfaces daily
  • Interact positively with teachers, children, and families
