Job summary

The Learning Experience - Milford, CT is seeking a dedicated Preschool Cook to join our team and help prepare nutritious meals for young children. You will plan, cook, and serve meals while ensuring safety and cleanliness in a childcare setting.

You will also manage allergies, coordinate with teachers, and support daily operations with the Center Leadership team. A High School Diploma and 1+ year of cooking experience are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1+ year of experience in food preparation and cooking.
• A food handling certificate or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and cook healthy meals for preschool children that meet nutritional requirements.
• Maintain and track food allergies for each child and communicate allergies to teachers with every food delivery.
• Follow proper food safety, handling, and sanitation procedures for safe storage and preparation.
• Collaborate with Center Leadership to purchase food and supplies and keep inventory records per local/state requirements.
• Provide excellent customer service and a positive attitude toward parents and children, and communicate effectively.
• Be flexible and adaptable to daily business needs of a childcare center.

You will:

• Plan, prepare, and cook healthy and delicious meals for preschool children that meet proper nutritional requirements.
• Maintain and track food allergies for each child in our center, ensuring their safety, and communicate any identified allergies to teachers daily with every food delivery.
• Follow proper food safety, handling, and sanitation procedures to ensure food is stored properly.
• Collaborate with the Center Leadership team to purchase all necessary food and supplies and keep inventory records as local and state agencies require.
• Provide excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards parents and children, listen, and communicate effectively.
• Be flexible and adaptable to the daily business needs of a childcare center.

If you have:
