Job summary

The Learning Experience in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Preschool Cook to prepare nutritious meals for our preschoolers. You will plan, cook, and serve meals daily while following safety and allergen protocols.

This role requires a High School Diploma and 1+ year of cooking experience, with a food handling certificate or ability to obtain one within 90 days. You will work with center staff to support children and families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ year of experience in food preparation and cooking.
• Food handling certificate or ability to obtain one within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and cook healthy meals for preschool children that meet nutritional requirements.
• Maintain and track food allergies for each child and communicate allergies to teachers daily with every food delivery.
• Follow proper food safety, handling, and sanitation procedures to ensure safe storage of food.
• Collaborate with Center Leadership to purchase food and supplies and keep inventory records as required by local and state agencies.
• Provide excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards parents and children, listen, and communicate effectively.
• Be flexible and adaptable to the daily business needs of a childcare center.

The Learning Experience seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic Preschool Cook to join our team as an ambassador of happiness. As a Preschool Cook with us, you'll play a key role in making a difference in the lives of children, their families, and communities by cooking daily nutritious meals.

You will:

• Plan, prepare, and cook healthy and delicious meals for preschool children that meet proper nutritional requirements.


• Maintain and track food allergies for each child in our center, ensuring their safety, and communicate any identified allergies to teachers daily with every food delivery.


• Follow proper food safety, handling, and sanitation procedures to ensure food is stored properly.
