Job summary

Glassboro Child Development Centers in New Jersey is hiring for part-time afternoon classroom supports. Hours are 3:30 PM to 6 PM, Monday through Friday, at $17.98 per hour for 12.5 hours weekly.

You will assist with planning, implementing, and evaluating age-appropriate activities to support children's development in a caring environment. Qualifications

• Prefer one year experience working with children.
• Prefer HS diploma; CPR/First Aid required.
• Prefer knowledge of child development.
• Must be in good physical and mental health
• Must complete minimum 12 hours of relevant annual training each year
• Work Hours/Environment: School district or private classroom, 20-40 hours per week and must be available for evening and weekend hours required to complete agency activities as assigned
• Relationships: children, team members, site director, school district personnel, GCDC administration and Board, parents/family members, agency partners and the greater community

Responsibilities

• Greet each child and family and assist with communicating information/concerns to family members as assigned
• Promote the health and safety of everyone in the program
• Provide active supervision of all program/classroom indoor and outdoor activities
• Assist with conducting and recording observations of all children
• Prepare classroom/program materials for activities, including meals
• Assist with bathroom and personal care routines as needed
• Complete professional development in: curriculum, assessment, infant/early childhood mental health, environment rating scale, quality standards, and all other required training
• Participate in reflective supervision
• Assist with cleaning and storage of program/materials
• Attend staff meetings and other agency events
