North Central Missouri College seeks a Teacher Assistant to aid the lead teacher in child development and center operations. The role involves supporting developmental experiences, supervising Head Start children, and maintaining center records in a collaborative setting.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent with CDA/college preferred, ability to lift 40–50 pounds, and passing a background check. Training and teamwork are emphasized.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent; CDA or some college preferred.
• Must pass a criminal background screening.
• Must obtain/maintain CDA within two years from date of hire.
• Maintain current health requirements (annual TB test and physical).
• Lift 40–50 pounds as part of the job duties.
• Ability to communicate with children and families with kindness and respect; work as a team; take direction; apply positive behavior support techniques; use curriculum with fidelity; assist with assessments and recordkeeping.

Responsabilidades

• Assists the teacher in planning, executing, and evaluating developmental experiences of the children in the classroom and lunchroom, on the playground, and on field trips.
• Assists in managing the operation of the center.
• Assists in the supervision of Head Start children.
• Reinforces positive behavior by maintaining consistent limits and realistic expectations, anticipating problems, redirecting children, and promoting self-esteem.
• Assists parents and volunteers as needed and as directed by the teacher.
• Assists in maintaining records at the center as directed by the teacher.
• Performs janitorial duties at the center as directed by the teacher.
• Engages in a variety of specific tasks related to child development as directed by the teacher.
• Performs all duties in the spirit of cooperation and teamwork with other staff members.
• Participates in workshops, in-service training opportunities, and formal education classes as planned and applicable to duties.
• Performs other duties related to center activities as may be assigned by the teacher.
