Job summary

Y in Central Maryland is seeking a Preschool Assistant Teacher to support the classroom teacher by implementing activities and assignments that are organized and aligned to learning objectives. You will help ensure the health, welfare, and safety of children in our program, while fostering social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and creative development.

You will contribute to our mission by supporting young learners and collaborating with staff, parents, and guardians.

Qualifications

• Enthusiasm for young children, patience, good humor, and sound judgment.
• Ability to clearly communicate and listen to children, parents, and staff.
• Some prior early childhood experience (preferred).
• A 90-hour Child Care Certification.
• A high school degree or GED.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher in implementing activities and assignments aligned to learning objectives.
• Help maintain health, welfare, and safety of enrolled children.
