The Learning Experience – Gaithersburg is seeking an Assistant Center Director to join our leadership team. This role supports daily operations, coaches teachers, and builds strong relationships with families as the school grows to its full potential.

Working closely with the Center Director, you will lead a team dedicated to delivering an exceptional educational experience where children learn and thrive. This position offers opportunities for career growth and professional development.

Qualifications

• Maryland OCC qualifications for Assistant Director in a licensed childcare center.
• Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
• Coursework in Early Childhood Education and child development preferred.
• 1–2 years leadership experience in a licensed childcare or preschool setting preferred.
• Knowledge of Maryland childcare licensing regulations.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Passion for early childhood education and developing high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

• Support the Center Director with day-to-day center management.
• Coach and mentor teachers through classroom observations and ongoing professional development.
• Assist with recruiting, onboarding, scheduling, and staff engagement.
• Maintain compliance with Maryland OCC licensing regulations.
• Support implementation of The Learning Experience's curriculum and classroom quality standards.
• Conduct tours for prospective families and help increase enrollment.
• Build strong relationships with children, families, and team members.
• Assist with center administration, licensing documentation, staffing, and operational organization.
• Promote a positive culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and outstanding customer service.
