Job summary

Early Care & Education FM Forest Vista in Flower Mound, Texas, seeks a STEM Lead Teacher for its STEM Station Afterschool Program. This hands-on role supports young children’s curiosity, safety, and growth, combining storytelling, experiments, and guided discovery in a nurturing setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meets HHS and DFPS caregiver qualifications (background check, medical clearance, annual training).
• Previous teaching or childcare experience preferred.
• Early Childhood Education coursework or certification preferred.
• Pediatric First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license (if transporting children) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead engaging lessons and activities (storytelling, music, arts, discovery play) that promote whole-child development.
• Foster a nurturing classroom culture where children feel loved, valued, and supported.
• Model positive behavior while guiding routines and expectations.
• Adapt instruction to meet the unique needs of each child.
• Partner with families to ensure smooth daily transitions and open communication.
• Promote healthy habits like hygiene, nutrition, and self-care.

Position: STEM Lead Teacher– STEM Station Afterschool Program who will be able to drive our mini bus.

We are looking for a STEM Lead Teacher for our STEM Station Afterschool Program to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging program where young children can learn, explore, and grow. This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role where your creativity, compassion, and leadership will shine daily.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent

Physical Requirements

• Active classroom environment: frequent sitting, standing, kneeling, bending
• Ability to lift/move up to 40 lbs as needed
• Maintain clear visual and auditory supervision of children
